Details of how kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu secretly reached out over the weekend and apologized to Speaker Rebecca Kadaga who has been angry at him for returning the Shs20m allocated to MPs calling it a bribe. At the prompting of Butaleja MP James Waluswaka, Kadaga had last month directed the Rules Committee of Parliament to commence disciplinary proceedings with a view of having Mr. Wine sanctioned for contemptuously referring to the Shs20m as bribe. The demand was that Mr. Wine explains who gave that bribe to the MPs and to achieve which purposes.
Mirundi previously claimed he had spoken to Kadaga and that things were going to be very bad for Mr. Wine who risked being expelled from the legislature like was done for Gen David Sejusa in 2013 during the 9th Parliament. Mirundi, whose lawyer son is gainfully employed by Kadaga at Parliament, back then claimed that besides the bribery claims, Kadaga had more concrete evidence potentially leading to the expulsion of Bobi Wine (Sejusa style) for skipping many Parliamentary sittings without authorization from the Speaker. The man from Kalisizo also claimed last week that he had rung Mr. Wine persuading him to calm down and apologize to Kadaga or else risk the very disgraceful dismissal from Parliament.
Last evening Mirundi used his Top Radio evening program (6-8pm) to say Mr. Wine had finally cracked realizing the impending loss of his MP job and a powerful city hajji secretly delivered him to Kadaga at a secretive location in Kampala where he ate a humble pie, went down on his knees and had the very combative Speaker of Parliament accept his apology.
“Because I was thickly involved in everything, I won’t reveal much but all I can say is that my son Bobi Wine finally apologized and Kadaga has forgiven him,” is all Mirundi (who People Power supporters fallaciously consider to be their political ally) said on Top Radio
