RIP Pastor Augustine Yiga

Christian Revival Church lead Pastor Augustine Yiga has died Monday night.

The news was confirmed on Monday Morning by ABS TV – the stationed owned by the diseased.

“We have lost him
May God bless his soul.
Rest in peace
RIP PR YIGA AUGUSTINE ABIZAAYO,” read the post on ABS’ official Facebook page.

The man of God has been battling liver-related complications which led to his admission at Nsambya Hospital over a fortnight ago.

Early last week, Yiga was announced dead by many media outlets in the country before his son Andrew Jjengo came out to refute the news.

According to Jjengo, the pastor had gone to the Seguku prayer mountain to intercede on behalf of his flock and for his own life before he dropped ill and got admitted.

The fallen pastor will be remembered for his comic sermons with the “Kiki kyolifa tewerabidde” segment endearing him most to his followers.

At the time of his untimely demise, Yiga had expanded his Kawala based church to South Africa where he operated on the outskirts of the South African capital Pretoria.

There were reports however that the church had choked on debts due to the Coronavirus-induced ban on religious congregations coupled with the pastor’s failing health that had forced him to return to Uganda.

To the majority of Ugandans doubtful about Coronavirus, Yiga will be remembered as a hero who represented their views, earning him over a month at Kitalya state prison for ‘ misleading’ the public that the pandemic was a hoax.

May his heart rest in eternal peace.
