The ministry of health has confirmed that 8 more cases of COVID 19 have been confirmed, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 9.

While addressing the nation on Monday night, Health Minister Jane Ruth Acheng said that all 8 new cases are for Ugandans who had recently traveled out of the country and returned from countries that had registered some cases of the deadly disease in the recent past.
“Uganda has confirmed 8 new cases of COVID 19, bringing the cumulative number of COVID 19 cases in the country to 9. All the 8 cases are Ugandans who have traveled out of the country recently,” said Hon Ruth Acheng in her address to the nation.
She appealed to all the Ugandans who have traveled outside the country majorly to Dubai in the past two weeks to call the toll-free numbers provided by the Health Ministry so they can be picked for immediate medical attention.

She also appealed to the general public to be calm and implored them to adhere to the Ministry’s guidelines as the only way of keeping the situation under check.

“I would like to appeal to Ugandans to keep calm while maintaining the safety guidelines of the ministry by washing hands, avoiding crowded places, and keeping at home,” cautioned Ms. Acheng.
