Members of the Mbogo clan who had converged for a thanksgiving prayer in Magulu, Singo on Saturday were thrown in disarray after police raided the premises, firing live bullets and teargas among the congregants.
Kyadondo East Legislator Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine was among those invited for the prayer meeting but has been denied access to the premises.
The event was to commemorate the seven years of Jajja Kayiira Gajuule since becoming the chairman of the Mbogo clan council.

“Our Clan head and most elderly people who were in attendance were severely affected.” Bobi Wine lamented.”
” I and other clan members including Prof. Dumba Ssentamu have been blocked from accessing the venue,” he further complained.
Many young people found at the venue were arrested and we’re have since learned that they’re being held at Mityana Police.
Bobi Wine condemned polices acts of brutalizing cultural institutions and their leaders.
“We strongly condemn this blatant disrespect of our culture and cultural institutions by the security forces.” He said.
