Police have summoned the Minister of Tourism in Busoga Kingdom Ms Hellen Namutamba days after she reportedly went into hiding after being tipped on how she was on police’s wanted list.
Namutamba has been wanted on allegations of spreading offensive propaganda against Buedea Woman Member of Parliament Anitah Amongi after she allegedly procured a number of social media activists to circulate information that Ms Amongi was conspiring to fight Speaker Kadaga by dragging her to court over her resistance against Museveni’s order on the contravasial COVID19 money allotment to MPs.
The summons which followed the aborted attempts to arrest the notorious Minister came after the arrest of a one Brian Kinene from Kamuli, who had been circulating the poisonous propaganda. Upon
thorough interrogation, Kinene revealed that he had received orders from the contraversial Minister to do the dirty job upon receipt of 20,000 shs.
Police swiftly mobilised and stormed the residence of Namutamba in Namugongo, Wakiso District but the raid was fruitless after she had reportedly been warned and thus ran to allude arrest. It was later reported that she was purportedly hiding at Speaker Kadaga’s residence, which allegations couldn’t be substantiated by this website.
In the letter summoning her dated May 12 2020,signed by Fred Mugumya on behalf of Director Criminal Investigations,Namutamba is ordered to report for interrogation to Kira road’s Department of Media Crimes today May 13th.
“…you are therefore required to appear before the Ag.Commissionor media crimes Department Kira road Police Division on 13 May 2020…,” Reads the summons in part.
Namutamba who also doubles as Assistant Private Secretary Operation Wealth Creation at State House is however not new to such contraversies,having many complaints of a similar nature to her name already.
She reportedly survived the Kyabazinga’s axe after hatching a similar defamation plot against fellow Minister in the Kingdom Joan Machola – Minister of Internal affairs. On this, she survived but with a strong warning from the kingdom Prime Minister Dr Muvawala.
She has also been accused by many Busoga politicians of putting a wedge between them and Speaker Kadaga which they claim has brewed political fermentation in the sub region.
“God doesn’t lie.He has finally exposed that evil girl.Let this be an opportunity for the Speaker to know the type of person she has been trusting,” said one politician from Busoga who preferred anonymity.
