Another Ugandan long-distance runner Jacob Kiplimo, 19, has won the men’s race at the World Half Marathon Championships, just days after his counterpart Joshua Cheptegei, 24 produced a world-breaking performance in Valencia a fortnight ago.
The teenage marathoner produced a mouthwatering performance this morning as he beat off competition from hundreds of competitors to emerge eventual winner in a record time of 58:49.
Ugandan celebrated international splinting world record breaker Joshua Cheptegei who was also part of the group finished in the fourth position with 59: 21 time on his first attempt at the marathon.
Kenya’s Kibiwott Kandie took silver in the s cond place after finishing at 58:54 behind Kiplimo.
Ethiopian long-distance runner Amedework Walelegn was a bronze winner, finishing in the third position with 59:08.
